Head of CommunicationsMy non for profit organisation are seeking a Head of Communications to join a busy and well invested in, team. The Communications Department provide strategic and operational leadership to this organisation. The department play a key role in managing and maintaining the reputation of this particular non for profit organisation. There is a focus on all internal and external communications and reputation management both on an individual level and within the humanitarian and development community.The Department also work to support and promote the work this organisation does on advocacy, and raising awareness of the significant activities and achievements of their fundraising work.The Head of Communications is there to strategically lead, and be accountable for the communications' department providing professional advice, expertise and leadership on all aspects of communications maximising opportunities to promote this organisations' work and upholding its reputation. To develop and implement an internal and external communications strategy using a variety of methods and tools.The Head of Communications has overall responsibility and management of the Media Relations, External Relations and Advocacy and Social Media Units of the Communications Department. Their responsibility is to raise the profile of this non for profit organisation to internal and external audiences, and to develop and implement their communications strategy, working closely with a number of execs and board level stakeholders.The Head of Communications will need to operate effectively and efficiently in a continually developing and changing workplace context and be capable of motivating others to embrace and drive change.The Head of Communications will manage as team of 4, so must have previous people management skills. Furthermore they will manage the communications department budget, operating within the budgetary limits of the department, and in accordance with company policies/processes.
