The role of Housing Officer will involve participation in providing a comprehensive and innovative housing advice service in two locations. You will be required to interview customers giving accurate and up to date housing advice, promoting the prevention of homelessness wherever possible using available resources. You will proactively manage your own caseload and process homeless applications and relevant inquiries in accordance with legislation, providing temporary accommodation where necessary. The role also involves the management of the Devon Home Choice register; banding applicants in line with the policy.About youPassionate and motivated with a helpful and friendly 'can do' attitude, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be highly organised. Attention to detail is essential and a willingness to go the extra mile for our customers. You will be able to work on your own initiative to drive cases forward and support the rest of the team where necessary.
