Reed Education Cheltenham is delighted to be recruiting for a passionate and experienced Room Leader to join a friendly, high-quality nursery setting in Cheltenham town centre.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Early Years professional looking to take on a leadership role within a supportive nursery environment, delivering outstanding care and education to young children.

Role Overview – Nursery Room Leader Cheltenham

As a Room Leader within this nursery setting, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of your room, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and develop.

You will lead a small team of practitioners, supporting them to deliver high-quality provision in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a designated room within the nursery
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with EYFS
• Ensure a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for all children
• Act as a key person, building strong bonds with children and families
• Monitor, track, and record children’s development and progress
• Support, motivate, and guide nursery staff within your room
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, safeguarding, and health & safety
• Work collaboratively with senior staff and parents/carers

What We’re Looking For

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (essential)
• Experience working within a nursery setting
• Previous experience as a Room Leader or ready to step up
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
• A nurturing, enthusiastic, and proactive approach
• Ability to lead and support a small team
• Excellent communication skills
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
